Creationism and Evolution Convergence
The hebrew article is more complete than the English one and includes a comment like this one from eFlux.
Hmmmm. 5000 years. That is awfully close the the 5700+ years creationists (Jews) believe marked the creation of the world. Could that be a coincidence? Now, I think even creationists like myself believe that humans adapt and evolve themselves, their immune system and digestive system etc as the article suggests. Certainly, it would be a lot easier for me to explain why "all of the sudden" evolution "sped up" over the last 5000 years than it is for someone who believes we came from an amoeba millions of years ago. Could that 5000 year scientific dating be a coincidence or just some funny time vortex in history?"In his study published in the Dec. 10 issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Hawks estimated that positive selection just in the past 5,000 years alone — around the period of the Stone Age — has occurred at a rate roughly 100 times higher than any other period of human evolution.
“In evolutionary terms, cultures that grow slowly are at a disadvantage, but the massive growth of human populations has led to far more genetic mutations,” says Hawks. “And every mutation that is advantageous to people has a chance of being selected and driven toward fixation. What we are catching is an exceptional time.”

Hey! Maybe Jews were the *original* creationists, but Christians are too! :)
Great post ... I'm a regular reader and love your insights.
A Scientific Prediction From Genesis
Besides myself, all others that try to tell us what Genesis says do not understand the text, and are speaking from ignorance. I’m sorry to have to take this position, but there are too many false teachers and unqualified people talking about “creation\evolution debates” (when no such contest exists), and proclaiming false doctrines about Genesis, such as Creation Science, theistic evolution, progressive creation, and “gap” theories. There is even the fad of “Intelligent Design”, which is a big waste of time, and has almost nothing of value to offer.
There are no “creation accounts” in Genesis. The opposing view of evolution is what I call “the Observations of Moses”, which were visions of six days from the past, given to Moses by God, on Mt. Sinai in 1598 BC. Each day was taken from a different day of the week, each week being the first week from a different geologic age of mankind.
Having said that, I am now making this declaration, so that mankind may know that the words and events written in Genesis are true, and the humanist theories of our origins are false. I predict that secular science shall soon find, if they have not already, solid evidence of prehistoric mankind, which is earlier than 30 million years in age. The book “Moses Didn’t Write About Creation!”, states from Genesis that mankind has been in his present likeness for over 60 million years. Moses wrote about extinction and restoration.

Perhaps it means that all religions are one under the SUN god? The stories are all about astrology.
The time period of 2,590 years (365.2421 days per year) is the same duration as the Mayan 5200 year period (of 360 days/year) which equals the Mayan 7,200 year period (260 days/year).
The Christians, the Mesoamericans and the Egyptians are the three oldest calendars known to man, they all describe the same night sky and movements we know today as Astrology.

This is more evidence for the truth about religion as it has always been used for centuries: divide to rule.
Jews, Christians, and Muslims have many things in common, including their ignorance of biology. People were not created by the invisible man in the sky. We developed from other animals. The earth is not a few thousand years old. It's more than 4 billion years old, but only about 1/3 the age of the universe. Religious people should educate themselves about science. The problem for their religions is, the more people know about science, the more likely they will throw the supernatural magician in the garbage where it belongs.
Maybe one of your other posters from a while back, David Cowan, would be interested in commenting on this.
bobc,As a biologist, Creationist and Christian, count me in as an exception to your ignorant statements. After a 6 year study of both sides of the issue, the scientific evidence for creation is overwhelming. If you still want to consider yourself no more than a grown up germ, so be it. My guess is that your scientific knowledge is nil and in great need of evolving.
