Winter 2009 Top Ten Israeli Internet Companies - Please Take the Survey

A little more than 6 months ago I posted a list of the top 10 most promising/valuable Israeli internet companies. The post drew quite a bit comments and chatter both on my definition of what is an internet company and also with the definition of promising and valuable.  I recommend reading the original post and the comments.

This time, I am just going to call it the Top Ten internet companies in Israel.  These are my biases and impressions. I am also putting them in alphabetical order below rather than ranking them this time. Readers can rank them in the survey below. The wisdom of the crowds may prove better at ranking than I was. There are some differences to the last list owing to 6 months passing, a crappy economy, changing business models and a change in my definition of internet companies based on user feedback. I also chose not to include any companies that do not have revenue. So, without further ado.

Conduit (Benchmark, Yozma)
Dotomi (Yair Goldfinger, USVP)
Fixya (Mayfield, Pitango)
Gigya (Benchmark, Mayfield)
JaJah (Sequoia)
Kontera (Sequoia, Carmel)
Metacafe (Benchmark, Accel, DAG, Highland)

Oberon (Goldman Sachs)
Seeking Alpha (Benchmark)

Please rank these top ten Israeli internet companies in the survey.

I will publish results as soon as a critical mass of readers have taken the survey.

I am a big fan of Jajah, and the head of the their mobile dept, Tzahi Efrati is a very impressive guy. I also like Metacafe, and Seeking Alpha, but I am not familiar with the others, so I cannot rank em all.
However, as I commented last time, you forgot one company that is number one in innovation and is starting to show major signs of success; Cellogic. Check em out here: http://www.myflyscreen.com/
Also, when are you gonna write a post about the top tech blogs in Israel? When you do, don't forget http://technmarketing.com/. The two writers are your first two comments here. Love your blog,
Hillel

I agree with slingshot about answers.com. Regarding the top Web company, I wanted to pick Oberon Media (which was one of the top 10 posts read on my blog last year) because casual gaming is a field that grew significantly in 2007 and 2008 and because of the recession casual gaming is going to spike even more this year, but Seeking Alpha seems to receive more online media attention and often has a high Page ranking for several finance- and company-related searches. I'm also most familiar with its team and its strategy and know both are solid and will lead it to continued growth and success this year and after.

To Slingshot and Leah -
Answers.com is not included because it is public. If I was not clear, this is a listing of private companies only.
shimon - link should be fixed now.
