What the heck is this? Tried to tweet just now and got this error!

That's almost standard. I see that at least 1-2 times a day. A refresh takes it away!

you have now experienced the Twitter "fail whale" - those of us who have been using the services from the beginning are used to seeing this unfortunately

Same as Rahul, and some times when I want to use sites which are using the twitter API, I get terrible delays... I guess they are not ready to be so successful!!
